The estimation about how long will it take varies a lot because it does not only depends on the number of records but also on the number of columns each record has.
I believe the CSV column heading should be id, email, fields IDs. Is it correct?
You can name the column heading as you want. Once the sync is created you will have to stick to those headings and can't change them as our platform will use those as reference.
Does the order of the columns matter in the Upload CSV file? Is adding all the columns mandatory in the CSV while uploading?
Yes, once the sync is created based on the existing excel/CSV file in the FTP host, all future files should have the same columns in the same order.
When creating a sync, you can choose which columns you want to import from. The remaining columns (not selected in the sync mapping) will be ignored.
I see CSV as the only Upload format, does this mean that the format should exactly be the same as the Downloaded CSV for a list?
The uploaded file may not be the same as the downloaded file, it could be in a different format or different columns. But it is important to have the mapping fields for the uploaded format to be correct.
Does FTP download support JSON format?

Why is my campaign under moderation?
All new platform customers have to undergo an approval process on emails and landing pages to ensure spam compliance and email sending best practices. Note that moderation normally takes a few minutes but can take up to a few hours during off-hours. Once the account has proven to be spam-free, it will be upgraded to no-moderation.

Why Google Analytics visits do not match with VBOUT?
Sometimes Google Analytics won't match 100% with the results in VBOUT.
There could be two main reasons behind this discrepancy:
1- Google uses different tracking technology for different analytics segments, one of them used for visitor tracking is called "image pixel tracking". VBOUT uses jquery to track web visits. Some browsers have configurations with image tracking disabled. Below is a snapshot example:

Advanced Opt-Out for Messaging Services
Messaging Services customers can customize opt-in/out keywords and replies by using the Advanced Opt-Out feature
STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT
Recipients can send words such as STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE... to opt-out. However, sending Please Stop or Stop please does not work.
This feature works for the most recent sending number that the contact received the message from. If you're sending from different numbers, only the reply to the most recent one will work.
START, YES, and UNSTOP
These replies can help in receiving the messages or re-subscribing. To re-subscribe, only START and UNSTOP work.
HELP and INFO
These replies send basic information on how to opt-out or opt-in again. It's recommended to add the business name in the customized advanced replies.
Messaging Services
If you use messaging services to send SMS, any STOP keyword reply will opt out the contact from all the phone numbers pools. On the other hand, any START keyword reply will have them active on all the phone number pools.
Short Codes
By default, Twilio will not handle opt-out, opt-in, or help keywords for shortcode numbers, unless the shortcode has been added to a Messaging Service.
How to use tagging in social media?
- Tagging only works when posting to one channel per post, or a combination of profiles under the same channel (ex: 3 Facebook profiles) If you are scheduling to multiple channels from one view (ex: 1 Linkedin, 1 Facebook and 1 Twitter) the auto-suggest will not work).
- Mention is supported via mass upload, as long as the full mention id is included inside the content, (ex: @[VBOUT:177322135653611]).
- The tag ID does not impact the post character limits.
- Changing or modifying the ID will break the tag and the post will treat it as normal text (ex: hello @[VBOUT:177322135653).
- When the post is published, the destination profile will only show the @portion of the tag, (ex: @[VBOUT:177322135653611] will show VBOUT).

How do I test an automation?
Once you set up an automation and publish it, you can test it by manually adding a contact to the workflow.

Note: The test will skip the trigger condition and only match the filters. ex: if the trigger is Opened an Email, and a condition on the trigger (Company size >50 employees) It will only match the condition (Company size >50 employees) for the test and not the trigger Opened an Email.
How to add reCaptcha to your forms?
To add reCaptcha spam protection to your form, visit the form builder and add the reCAPTCHA from the left panel.
Note that if you are using the HTML embed code method, you need to re-install the form code on your website. The Lite JS embed method, however, will automatically update your existing forms.
Why is my Facebook page not showing on VBOUT after connecting it?
You have to make sure that you're an admin of the Facebook page and that you had given it access to be edited by the user you are adding.
To achieve this, go to Business Integrations, and add the app there:
Rejected by Google Ads: Malicious or Unwanted Software?
If your ad has been flagged by Google Ads as 'Malicious or Unwanted Software', do not panic. There is a chance this could be a false positive and a quick fix might be possible.
Below are top reasons as of why your Ad leading to a landing page on VBOUT might get flagged by Google:
- The landing page is referencing a script or a link to a script that could potential cause 'harm' to the visitors on the website. This is determined by Google's engine.
- An automatic downloadable is triggered once you visit the page.
- The URL on the ad is not matching the destination site, ex: ad is in http while the page is https.
- The page source code includes images, CSS and JS files with mixed http and https.
- The source code includes scripts hosted on another domain not matching the one used to the destination link.
- The content is misleading and not matching the offer. You can read more on this here.
- The content includes suspicious false call-to-action that triggers automatic downloads, installs or redirect to external pages that were found suspicious by Google.
- Page asks for sensitive personal details, such as banking, social security etc...

Why is a contact’s click number high for one link?
When you notice that a contact has clicked too many times on the same link, this can mean one of the following:
- The person clicked on the link many times or shared the link internally within a project management system with other team members who in turn clicked.
- The person clicked on the link, it got stuck loading, so they continued to refresh the link with the cookie and session ID appended.
- The person has a bot or a collection of bots on the server that clicks on links and scans the destination URL for issues.
Why does my email look zoomed out in my mail app?
Some extensions that are locally installed on the client browser might append code into the html editor unknowingly by the user. Some of these extensions like Grammarly can cause the email content to render differently when received by the client. If you are seeing discrepancy in the way your emails look in the inbox (ex: zoomed out),, make sure to disable some of the text editing/manipulation extensions on your browser and retry the design process.

Can I prefill forms with contact details
Yes, if you are using the VBOUT landing page builder, you can pre-fill form fields with the relevant 'cookied' contact information, assuming they clicked on a link from an automation campaign or an email campaigns. Below is a quick snapshot on how to do that:
If VBOUT cannot get the corresponding contact's data, the shortcode will be left empty. You can also apply the shortcode library that VBOUT provides to control the way data is parsed.
What are soft bounces and hard bounces?
A soft bounce indicates a temporary delivery issue of the campaign to an email address. This can be due to the email inbox being full, or the recipient mail server is experiencing some technical issues and is temporarily offline for example. In short this means the current campaign could not be currently delivered, but if you try again in the future you might be able to deliver the message because this is not a permanent delivery issue.
A hard bounce however means that there is a permanent issue with the delivery. This is due to email address not existing anymore for example or maybe the domain name of the recipient has expired...
I just purchased an add-on, how come I don’t see it on my Dashboard?
Try to log out and log back in to your account and see if the issue persists. If it does please reach out to VBOUT support.
Do I have to manually check for duplicate subscribers within my lists?
When sending email campaigns, VBOUT will only send the email once to the same contact. When importing a new list, VBOUT will automatically detect duplicate contacts and import the same user only once.
