VBOUT MCP connects VBOUT to compatible AI applications. It allows you to ask questions about your VBOUT account, inspect marketing performance, discover contacts, lists, campaigns, templates, automations, social channels, chatbots, and CRM guides, and create or publish supported marketing assets through AI-assisted workflows.

What you can do depends on your VBOUT plan and the access you grant when you connect.

Connecting to VBOUT MCP

  • Open the MCP or integrations settings in your AI application.
  • Choose the option to add a remote or custom MCP server.
  • Enter the VBOUT MCP server URL: https://mcp.vbout.com/mcp
  • Sign in with your VBOUT account and approve the access your application requests.
  • Save the connection and wait for the available VBOUT capabilities to load.
  • Test the connection with a read-only request, such as: Show my VBOUT plan and usage limits.

Sign in with your VBOUT account. Your API key stays with VBOUT and is not given to the AI application.

Grant permission to create and publish during sign-in if you want those actions. A view-only connection can look up data, but it cannot create or publish.

Account access and usage limits

  • View your VBOUT plan.
  • View the capabilities available to your account.
  • View your per-minute and per-hour usage limits.
  • View guidance about access, limits, and upgrades.

Access is based on the connected account’s plan:

  • Trial accounts: Connect-only access. Trial users can view access and rate-limit guidance, but VBOUT data and action tools are not available until the account is upgraded.
  • Free accounts: Up to 15 calls per minute and 200 calls per hour.
  • Paid accounts: Up to 30 calls per minute and 500 calls per hour.

These limits apply to the VBOUT account and are shared across all MCP connections. Starting a new session does not reset them.

If you reach a limit, wait about a minute and try again.

You can review or change your plan at https://app.vbout.com/Plan.

Natural-language requests

You do not need to know internal VBOUT IDs. You can refer to items by name, including:

  • Campaigns
  • Email lists
  • Email templates
  • Audiences
  • Folders
  • Automation guides
  • Social channels
  • CRM pipeline templates

If more than one record matches a name, you will be asked to choose the correct one.

If something is not available

You can ask the assistant to show your VBOUT plan, available capabilities, and rate limits.

If no available capability can complete a request, ask the assistant to report it. Those reports help the product team prioritize future capabilities.

Email campaigns, lists, and contacts

Email campaigns

  • List campaigns, including sent, scheduled, and draft campaigns.
  • View campaign details.
  • Review campaign performance, including opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam reports.
  • List audiences and email templates.
  • Create an email campaign. It is saved as a draft unless you include a send time, in which case it is scheduled.

Example: Show campaign performance for the latest sent campaign and create a draft for the next promotion.

Email lists and forms

  • List your email lists.
  • View a list’s details and fields.
  • List signup forms.
  • Create an email list and add contacts.

Example: Show the fields in my newsletter list and create a new list for webinar registrations.

Contacts and activity

  • Browse contacts in a list.
  • View a contact’s full profile.
  • Find a contact by email address.
  • View a contact’s activity history.
  • Get a short activity summary.

Example: Find the contact for jane@example.com and summarize the contact’s recent activity.

Automations

  • Browse automation guides.
  • Filter automation guides by tag where supported.
  • Create an automation from a selected guide or goal.

Example: Find an abandoned-cart automation guide and create a workflow named Recovery flow.

Social media

  • List connected social channels.
  • View social posts and post details.
  • View the social calendar.
  • View click statistics for Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Google Business. Instagram does not return click statistics.
  • View available channel feeds where supported.
  • Publish a social post immediately, or schedule it for later. If you do not include a time, the post is published immediately.

Example: Show the connected Facebook pages, display the social calendar for this week, and schedule the approved post for Friday at 10:00 AM.

Chatbots

  • Browse chatbot template categories.
  • Browse template tags.
  • Search chatbot templates.
  • Create a chatbot from a template or use case.

Example: Find the website FAQ template and create a chatbot named Site FAQ bot.

  • Browse CRM pipeline categories.
  • Browse pipeline templates and guides.
  • Create a CRM pipeline board from a template.

Example: Create a board from the SaaS sales pipeline template titled Q2 Deals.

Creating and publishing resources

Create and publish actions are available only when you granted that permission while connecting. Review the audience, content, destination, schedule, and any contacts being added before you tell the assistant to continue.

  • Create an email campaign. Omit the send time to save a draft, or include a send time to schedule it.
  • Create an automation from a guide.
  • Publish a social post immediately, or schedule it.
  • Create a chatbot from a template.
  • Create a CRM pipeline board from a guide.
  • Create an email list and add contacts.

A social post with no schedule time is published immediately.

Important limitations

You can look up information and create or publish some items. You cannot edit or delete existing VBOUT resources from the AI application.

Use the VBOUT dashboard when you need to edit or delete an automation, chatbot, CRM board, email list, contact, campaign, social post, or other existing resource.

Some capabilities depend on the connected account’s plan, permissions, available records, and the connected social channel. If a capability is unavailable, ask the assistant to report it so the product team can review the request.

Privacy and security

When you sign in, your API key stays with VBOUT and is not given to the connected application.

Email addresses may be hidden in contact lists and activity views. A direct contact lookup or a full contact profile may show an email address when you ask for that contact. Contact names are included in responses sent to your connected application.

VBOUT records which actions were used and whether they worked. Your chat text, email addresses, contact names, and campaign content are not stored.

Troubleshooting

The MCP server cannot be added

  • Confirm that the URL is entered exactly as https://mcp.vbout.com/mcp.
  • Confirm that the connected application supports a remote MCP server and signing in through the browser.

Sign-in fails

  • Start the connection again and complete the VBOUT login and approval steps.
  • Confirm that the VBOUT account has permission to use the required capabilities.

A usage limit is reached

Ask the connected AI application to show your VBOUT plan and usage limits. Trial, free, and paid accounts have different access and rate limits. Wait about a minute and try again. If the limit is unexpected, contact your VBOUT administrator or support team.

An action is not available

The action may not be supported, may not be available on your plan, or may need create-and-publish permission that you did not grant when you connected. Reconnect and grant that permission if you need to create or publish. For anything else, ask the assistant to report it, then use the VBOUT dashboard to edit or delete.

The VBOUT capabilities are not visible

  • Confirm that the connection completed successfully.
  • Confirm that you have permission to use the connection.
  • Confirm that your plan includes the requested capability.
  • Refresh or restart the connection so the available capabilities can load again.
